Note 2: Soda Player has support for tvOS 10.2+ (the device verification thingy) for a while now, so no worry about that, it will work like a charm. You may have seen acestream links in the wild, they look like this: acestream://c42811e3efd72d5bdf3d2270976469fe5c0771ae (don't try this one, it's just an example link). Their official app is quite sketchy though (and Windows-only) but the protocol is performant and widely used.
